2002 SF United Malvinas

SF United Malvinas was formed by combining players from two former SF United FC top teams that had to be separated after the initiative birth year changes mandated by the United States Soccer Federation.

The Malvinas (a long with a core group of players that came from another very successful team with an impressive record named SF United Leonas) has become a great group of girls and some have even been playing for the club for the past 4-6 years. In their soccer club career, Malvinas has had great success on the field and such accomplishments include winning Leagues, Tournaments and having undefeated seasons as they have gone from playing the local SF CCSL-prep league to CCSL travel and now competing in the NorCal Premier league.

Today, the Malvinas is a newly formed team and during their first tournament as a group the team played in the Golden Gate Invitational that took place in September. The team was among the semifinalist as they competed against highly competitive teams.

During their first participation in the NorCal Premier League this past Fall as a 2002 team, they placed in the top positions in their respective division and only one point behind the champion of the league. The Malvinas are also competing in the NorCal State Cup and finished their first round in 1st place.

The Malvinas are a group of young women who are well disciplined and are determined to continue improving and competing at the highest possible level. They are a motivated group of girls with the desire to continue learning and growing as soccer players to reach their fullest potential.

The Malvinas are a welcoming group of girls that in the little time of knowing one another, they have come together quite well and are determined to play for one another. There's good harmony in the group and it is a very diverse group as they come from different life backgrounds. The girls attend various, public, independent and private schools throughout the city.

The coaching received by the these young ladies is top class. Their coach Rafael has many years and vast experience of working with a club soccer environment. Through his great professionalism and commitment, the girls have learned to apply the same level of commitment on the field.

Our main philosophy is that through soccer, we can help these young ladies to continue developing and learn in a healthy and positive environment. We hope to contribute and instill in the girls the tools necessary to thrive in their college careers and in their futures.
